Movie Night 13th Birthday Party

My little sister turned 13 in March and wanted a fun party for the big milestone. Having kids all under 6 finding a theme grown up enough was more of a challenge. My parents have an awesome media room with a projection screen so that was the start of our movie night theme.
We started the look with a theater curtain inspired backdrop. I will tell you my secret. This is completely no sew. I pinned the fabric into folds along the top. So easy and such a fun statement piece.

Next I added the 5M Creations Movie Night Printables. This fun banner features red and white stripes, large black dots on white, and fun theater inspired images. It can be done in other sayings as well. Concessions or Happy Birthday would be fun.

These fun centerpieces add some height and color to my table. I used one on each side to balance the space. This one is personalized with the birthday girl's name and age.

The large signs I created were one of my favorite additions to this party. It gave a pop of color to the backdrop and gives a purpose as well featuring the movie title. I also created a huge concessions sign you will see in a bit.

The movie of choice.
This cake was inspired by a find on pinterest. I am blessed to have a wonderful cake decorator who executed it perfectly. It looks like it was cutsom made for this party.

There were so many special touches on this cake. A name sign, 13 on the red carpet, movie reels, camera, action signs, whimsical stars, and lots of shimmery gold accents.

I knew that I wanted a movie candy display. We used traditional boxed candy like you would get at the theater in 6 varieties,

pretzels and licorice. I added a 5M Creations tent card cut it in half as a tag instead. Add some ribbon to dress up your container.

The candy bar with our polka dot favor bags was the hit of the party.

I was so lucky that my parents media room has this fun popcorn machine. I purchased classic popcorn cups and created a popcorn printable to add to the space. No movie party is complete without popcorn.

We also had a beverage station with retro glass soda bottles and our striped paper straws.

Our upstairs space was used for burgers and hot dogs and a red carpet experience.

I set up a table with photo props for the party guests to get silly.

Everyone got in on the fun.

It was such a fun party perfect for a 13 year old.

A newly updated movie party package can be found in my etsy shop.
